The Crossroads Street Tree Initiative
“Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” Recently, you may have noticed something changing in the Crossroads district of Kansas City – new trees taking root, breathing life into our concrete jungle. One of the groups behind this effort, the Crossroads Community Association, has been doing excellent work trying to develop more green space in the area of Kansas City that arguably needs it the most. We had the privilege of collaborating with them to create imagery showcasing the impact of these new trees along Southwest Boulevard, a vision we presented at the 2023 PIAC hearings for funding.
